Black Social Worker's Health Fair
4/3/2018
The Association of Black Psychologists supported our brothers and sisters at the Black Social Worker's Health Fair this past week, and it was phenomenal! This Health Fair is held annually to support and promote mental health awareness in our San Diego community. Check out the experience below!
Let The Poets Speak!
Perspectives on Healing in our Modern Community
Our first fundraiser of the year was a success! We started 2018 off right with a focus on healing in our community.
Renowned Spoken Word Artists: Gil Sotu and Jacole Kitchen joined us, performing original selections on themes such as: Coming of Age as a Black Woman in America, What does it mean to be a Black Man? Human Imperfections, Death & Loss, and Disease within the Black community.
Our Psychologist's panel featured: Dr. Carl Clark, Dr. Philip Raphael, Dr. Darlene Townes, Dr. Monica Hinton, Dr. Lanique Ruffin, Monique Little-Latham and Kim Bailey. Our community came out and supported us, with over $250 raised from the event, not including separate donations! ABPsi thanks our community and the Veteran's Museum in conjunction with Alyce Smith, Poet Laureate, for such a successful event. Check out highlights of the event below!
