Membership Categories
Professional Member
has a major in psychology at the Master’s or doctoral level and is committed to the goals and objectives of The Chapter.
Associate Member
has a major in one of the other behavioral science areas at the Master’s or doctoral level and is committed to the goals and objectives of The Chapter.
Adjunct Member
has a major in psychology and/or one of the other behavioral science areas at the bachelor’s level and is committed to the goals and objectives of The Chapter.
Student Member
is enrolled full-time or part-time at the undergraduate or graduate level majoring or minoring in psychology or a closely related discipline and is committed to the goals and objectives of The Chapter.
Affiliate Member
is a person not eligible for other membership categories, but committed to the goals and objectives of The Chapter.
Supporting Member
is open to persons who wish to make a financial commitment to the Chapter.
Institutional Member
is open to institutions/agencies and colleges/universities committed to the goals and objectives of The Chapter, sponsorship is required.
*Active Members: Have attended and/or helped develop at least 3 events
*Non-Active Members: Attend meetings only

Please remember that for anyone to be considered a member in good standing of ABPsi, that person must be a member of both the national organization and the local chapter.
Students must pay national dues, but are not required to pay local dues.
Life members are required to pay local dues, but not national dues.

Student Circle
Are you a graduate or undergraduate student interested in joining our ABPsi family? Look no further!
ABPsi San Diego chapter created the Student Circle, for the advancement of people and students of African descent. The Student Circle is comprised of graduate and undergraduate students living in the San Diego area , enrolled in an institution of higher learning. The Student Circle houses a multidisciplinary membership, including psychologists, social workers, educators and entrepreneurs.
The Student Circle provides mentorship, networking opportunities, academic support, and professional development to advance, inspire and create culturally competent professionals fully equipped to be successful in the workforce. Student Circle's scholarly community is dedicated to providing academic and mental health resources, such as educational lectures to groups, community organizations and corporations.
